Diego Vergara, alias Sentinela del Norte, whose 2019 album “Parte del Paisaje” became one of the Chilean musical milestones of that year, today brings us his new single “Bomba de Pintura”, a preview of what will be his second LP to be released this year through Discos Pegaos.

“Bomba de Pintura” is built from a sample of Fela Kuti, which in Vergara’s words “directly influenced the concept of the lyrics, which is to make a protest song that is danceable and entertaining. The idea of a paint bomb comes from the bombs that leave the cops’ cars with little paint stains, very similar to the work of the painter Jackson Pollock. So the paint bomb can be seen metaphorically as the struggle between culture and art against power and capitalism “. For this time, Sentinela del Norte recruits his all-time sidekick Dadalú, who is also part of his already legendary project Colectivo Etéreo, and who brings that explosive immediacy to “Bomba de Pintura”, turning it into one of the most social lyrics of the duo.
In addition, the lyrics contain references as diverse as chilean band Los Prisioneros, the struggles of the LGBTI community, the new constitution and, of course, an honest and stark hatred of the police.

Recorded at Modos Estudios, mastered by Chalo G and available in original and instrumental version (produced entirely by Vergara himself), “Bomba de Pintura” is the first advance of “Un año sin Dormir”, the new Sentinela del Norte album, to be released the first half of this 2022.
