With this five track selection, we’re starting a new compilation series called “Pegamentos”, which pretends to become the place to exhibit the more “clubber” side of our label producers, and also be an overview of the scene’s situation. Without attachments to any particular genre, and always using a very personal and local approach to the global trends on dance music, this first edition flirts with things like house, disco, sampling, bass music, among others, putting together an heteregenous sketch of the club music situation on Santiago, Chile.
Tonossepia, producer with a vast experience and key member of projects like indie-rap tandem Colectivo Etéreo and the netlabel Modismo, makes his debut for Discos Pegaos with “Nostalgia de un dancin”, a disco house delite with quite a summer of love aroma; six minutes of pure latin cadence for the dancefloor. Janaki ,a.k.a. Juan Carlos Eyzaguirre, is another of the debuts for this chapter; a producer whose influences goes from luminaries like Four Tet, James Holden to Steve Reich . “Coil”, his first track for Discos Pegaos, is a fearless ritmical puzzle that breaks through between vocal collages and mesmerizing synth circles. A known of the house artist like Fantasna, confirms on the six minutes and a half of his “Camino Nocturno”, all those fine credentials that have it on a very privilege position on the chilean house scene. Meanwhile Grandsonbeats, producer and member of the psychedelic rock band called Pupila Spectra, make his contribution to this chapter with “Yes we can”, a well-sharped acid house exercise with a high-tension rhythm. Finally, and closing this first edition of “Pegamentos”, we have the long-awaited return of Dementira with “El mal menor”, showing his well-known skills for beat architecture, now with a rythmical approach and a more uptempo focus than what we heard previously on his “Chimpance” EP.
