about

After three years since the release of its last chapter, Discos Pegaos and its series Pegamentos are back this year with a fourth installment, which consolidates the spirit characteristic of their previous episodes; one that undertakes the search for the most unprejudiced and stimulating club sounds in its reaffirmation of avant-garde local aesthetics and visions, all within the vast and diverse latinamerican electronic scene. A scenario that today brings together artists and producers from countries such as Uruguay, Bolivia and Chile in these five unpublished tracks that make up this new compilation.

The volume 4 of “Pegamentos” is composed by the following tracks and artists:

1.- Alpha S – “Piketito”
The chilean producer Alpha S (aka Baltazar Solar), after having been part of the compilation “Esquirlas” released by the argentinean collective Hiedrah, and after his performances in the live shows of chilean artists such as Vandal Boogie and Catana, returns to the catalog of Discos Pegaos with “Piketito”, a track that continues in line with the peripheral club sound of his latest works and suggests some sketches of his next steps.

2.- Sikuri – “Baiuro”
Marcelo Morales is the name after Sikuri, a native of La Paz, Bolivia, whose tracks have been released by Latin American platforms like Hiedrah, as well as european experimental club labels such as Trax Couture. “Baiuro” is the first Sikuri track released on Discos Pegaos; a track loaded with minimalistic club details, latin rhythms of elegant strokes and electronic contemplation moments.

3.- Dementira – “Panamericana”
“Panamericana” is the return of Ariel Altamirano, producer, DJ and chilean musician, actual member of Gepe’s live band, as well as founder of Discos Pegaos. This is Dementira’s first track since his EP “Sucedáneo” released in 2016. The track deepens in its fusion of strong syncopation and dub textures, with high skills, in what suposes to be an advancement of its new material to be edited in the future next on Discos Pegaos.

4.- Aye Aye – “Pudriéndose para los Microbios”
After two releases and contributions for labels like chilean Infinito Audio and Matias Aguayo’s Cómeme, the Chilean Carlos Reinoso, now based in Mexico, returns with AyeAye to the Discos Pegaos catalog. “Pudriéndose para los Microbios” is a hypnotic exercise of mutant techno sound, puncturing and enveloping; another proof of the multiplicity of dimensions of the AyeAye universe, and a good omen for its next movements.

5.- Lechuga Zafiro – “Llanto”
Pablo De Vargas is an uruguayan DJ and producer, as well as a member of the Salviatek collective. This 2018 has just released its outstanding EP “Testigo” through the Mexican label NAAFI, whose track “Agua y Puerta” has been included in the last edition of the Fabriclive mixtape curated by the british underground gurus Kode9 and Burial. “Llanto”, his contribution to this volume of Pegamentos, is a good dose of his already characteristic vocal cut’n’paste, with which he constructs complex rhythmic patterns that interweave with sonorities that refer to the latinamerican jungle, in charged synthetic environments tensile.
