Since the highly acclaimed “Imaquinar”, a collaboration with argentinean MC Mustafa Yoda, that we did not had any news from Dj Manuvers on this part of the globe. That’s why it’s a great honour for Discos Pegaos, to announce the release of the first ep of Francisco de Pablo, on our label.

The chilean producer, who’s been located in Miami for a very long time, gets into more uptempo and electronic fields than ever before; this time joined by Yarlen Ferreira, a long-time producer with a very interesting hip hop and experimental music background.

Yarlen has been making music for over ten years, related mainly to glitch hop-bass scene (featurings with M Sayyid of Antipop Consortium, and Otto Von Schirach), she is deeply influenced by electronic producers but always keeping an urban approach. Meanwhile, Manuvers has already edited several works by himself (on labels like Botanica del Jibaro and Project Mooncircle) and also featured by rappers and voices like Seven Star, Induce, Soarse Spoken; and Ana Tijoux, FDA or Mustafa Yoda in Latin America.

The drive home EP brings to us the result of Manuvers & Yarlen’s quest for a personal and nocturnal sound. Influenced by modern beat culture and Manuvers’ funk&soul analogic tradition, the ep developes electronic landscapes, built on cut ‘n paste textures. Tracks like “Midnight Creep” or “Get Up” show up these qualities, combining warm atmospheres with deep basslines. There’s also space for some modern rap tunes; like that we can hear on“Hit her with the one two” featuring Akin (from CYNE), and also on the downtempo sexyness of “Scrible Hearts”, featuring Jay Jo Hero.

Mixed and masterized by Dj Raff, this EP probably will fulfill, with class and a marvelous beatmaking, the expectations of more traditional listeners, besides the respect and atenttion of the nu-bass generation headz.
