Antorcha, the new EP by Dementira, producer and director of Discos Pegaos, as well as an outstanding graphic artist from the Chilean scene, is now available for listening on all platforms.
Inspired by the concept of violence, Dementira weaves a net of forces that oppose each other and make themselves explicit through contingent quotes, as he already conspired in his first single and shocking video “El Melocotón”, portraying the attack to the tyrant by the FPMR. Throughout the 6 pieces that make up this EP, Dementira displays different scenarios for violence, inspired by Chilean society and its recent history.
In the sonic section, Antorcha is filled with urban, Latin and explosive rhythms, complemented with synthetic pads to create epic and melancholic atmospheres intertwined with an arsenal of poignant references such as the samples for the tracks “Autodefensa”, “Atrapao”, “Cuicos” and a secret weapon: a feminine vision of violence, thanks to the participation of the Argentine artist Joyaz (Yazmin Huenchuman) in the track “Caos y Fuego”. Dementira, in its eagerness to seek new paths in electronic music, invites us to explore and connect with Chilean history, without fear of looking directly at its darkest passages, because that is where the flame is lit.
Antorcha was produced by Dementira, mixed by Dj Raff and mastered by Chalo G.
